Why do cats and dogs use Gatifloxacin?

Gatifloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that kills certain types of bacteria and is used to treat eye infections ing conjunctivitis and keratitis. If your dog or cat has been diagnosed with an eye infection, your veterinarian may prescribe an eye drop suas Gatifloxacin.

As stated in the introduction, tobramycin is a type of aminoglycoside antibiotic. Being aminoglycoside, it is a Gram-negative antibacterial medications that inhibit protein synthesis. Aminoglycosides are not able to be absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract. While tobramycin can be given intravenously, it is most commonly used via the ophthalmic route in the form of eye drops.
